ABOUT SAM WILLIAMS
Sam Williams is a lifelong resident who grew up in the Jacksonville Beaches alongside his parents and siblings. He and his wife, Pam, have been married for over 30 years and raised their two children, Emily and Austin, in Northeast Florida.
Sam began his career in public service in 1990 with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, where he served in a broad range of leadership roles over three decades. His experience includes assignments as Patrol Deputy, Motor Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, District Commander, Patrol Chief, and ultimately Director of Corrections. In that role, he managed a $22 million budget and oversaw complex operations centered on safety, accountability, and service to the public. He retired in 2020 after a distinguished career marked by professionalism and dedication to the community.
A graduate of Fletcher Senior High School in Jacksonville Beach, Sam went on to earn his Associate of Arts degree, Cum Laude, from Vincennes University and his Bachelor of Science degree from Flagler College in St. Augustine. His professional training includes more than 3,000 hours of law enforcement certifications and completion of the prestigious FBI National Academy.
An avid outdoorsman, Sam enjoys spending time on the water fishing and being with his family. He is honored to seek the opportunity to continue serving the community where he built his career and raised his family.
